We just came back from Maui and it was a dream. I’m always a bit indecisive about what to pack as far as shoes are concerned but after traveling extensively, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only heels that I can travel with are platforms or flatforms.
Unless I’m visiting Paris and need something extra fancy (and I’m willing to risk an ankle to wear that stiletto), I need something that I won’t fall in while trying to walk on uneven cobblestone streets or stroll along grassy areas as in the case of Maui. I’m a pretty clumsy person so I’m always happy to try out something that will prevent me from falling.
I just recently discovered a cool brand called Andre Assous. The footwear company originally began with an espadrille focus and gradually expanded its footwear to include comfortable wedges and platforms that IMO are great for everyday wear and especially travel. The sandals are made in Spain, something that I find particularly important in today’s China-centric fashion world, and they’re designed in NYC.
These Andre Assous travel sandals are the Cindy; they come in both black and white and are great for a dressed up or down look. I wore them with denim shorts around the resort in Wailea during the day and I paired them with a black jumpsuit for dinner in the evening. **And if you’d like to grab a pair yourself, use my AAfashion promo code for 10% off code from May16-June 8.
Maui is one of those places that is so laidback you can show up for an elegant dinner in casual clothes and not be judged. Rarely do you find someone dressed in sparkling clothes and fancy dresses so these shoes were perfect. If you aren’t a fan of platforms, Andre Assous has a lot of other options to choose from. Some of my other favorites are the Nalia and the Olivia Napa espadrille so be sure to check them out!
