Every single time I have ever said I am not a huge fan of cookies was a lie, one that I’ve recently discovered upon making these out-of-this-world bars. This is Christmas cookie recipe #2 baked last week during my cookie-fest with my mom and sisters.
But seriously. If you love toffee and chocolate, you will love these and won’t be able to stop at just one. It’s like pecan pie meets caramel chews meets chocolate sauce. And they make a whole pan for the whole family!
TOFFEE PECAN CHOCOLATE BARS
1 3/4 c flour
3/4 c brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks (3/4 c) salted butter
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c chocolate toffee bits
2 oz milk chocolate, chopped
3/4 c pecans
Mix flour and sugar together in a bowl. Cut in butter and spread mixture on the bottom of a greased 9×13 glass pan. Press down firmly and bake on 350F for 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix milk egg, vanilla, toffee, chocolate and pecans together in a large bowl. Once crust has finished baking, remove from oven and top with toffee mixture. Spread out evenly and bake in oven for another 25 minutes. Cool and cut into small squares. *recipe slightly adapted from a family friend recipe
Today’s denim on denim look is brought together by pairing a Kut from the Kloth white denim jacket and 3×1 jeans. 3×1 is one of my favorite denim brands – this pair has held up wonderfully and because the ankle portion of the jeans are so fitted, they do well on my petite frame (most denim is…
I know bread is all carbs and full of calories. I know that it’s the root of all diet evils and that many people have sworn it off for good. But I also know that it’s delicious and the thought of fresh-baked bread makes me HUNGRY. This recipe is full of oats, seeds, walnuts and…
In celebration of spring, here’s a guide on how to create the perfect boho picnic. You may notice that there’s snow on the ground in these shots – why yes, we did unexpectedly get a blizzard in March! But my sister and I never let that ruin our fun! So this is how we put…
I love sweet and savory flavors combined. When I was younger, my dad would make us banana, chocolate and pita bread sandwiches for dessert and I remember having crushed pretzels with my ice cream on more than one occasion. They were both delicious treats and a fun way to scrounge up something sweet when in…
Well, NY was amazing. We had such a great time and it was fun seeing my mom stop every few minutes for a photo op. Her favorite part of NY was sitting down at cafes and restaurants while taking in the views. We’re already planning the next trip up. We love pasta in our house….
Today’s recipe is a combination of pumpkin pie and pecan pie. I love pumpkin flavored sweets and this one ranks high with my favorite Four Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake and the equally delicious Bourbon Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake at the top. We ended up giving away half of this pie because with all the baking I have been doing, it’s been…
