Red Ruffle Skirt + Studded Sandals
The beauty of sailing with Celebrity is that formal nights are well, in-formal. It was nice not having to pack super fancy dresses (though many people still wore them), suits, fancy shoes, the works all for just two nights. Celebrity allows you to choose just how formal you want to be on formal night. It was interesting to watch the display of outfits throughout the cruise week – surprisingly, I found them to be more classic and elegant than any other ship we had been on. Formal night was a smidgen more dressed up than other nights but that wasn’t saying much. Gals wore beautiful gowns throughout the week while men had nice slacks and crisp white shirts. There were others (like us) who preferred sundresses and nice jeans. It was really refreshing to not have to fret about what to wear. I wore this cool ensemble on the first formal night – waltzing around the decks in this red ruffle skirt made me feel carefree. If you’re not a fan of red, Asos also carries the skirt in pink and black and it comes in petite sizing!

Gorgeous skirt – and I love that it comes in petite. I was on a Norwegian ship on NYE once. They don’t do formal nights at all, but some women dressed for the occasion. I had this great photo people dancing on deck where you could clearly see a woman in a formal gown and a man in shorts and a t-shirt. Whatever floats your boat (no pun intended) right?
Hahaha! I like that pun 😉 I love that about cruising…so much flexibility!
