Playing with Textures
I spy 4 different textures in this outfit: suede, leather, embossed cotton (and leather!) and ribbed knit. 5 actually, if you include the polyester blend in the scarf. It seems like every winter I talk about textures and how fun they are when they’re laid out against each other in an outfit. If you think about it, we go from basically zero texture in summer (ok maybe a handful) to a crazy amount in fall and winter. Clothing seems to inherently adopt a texture if it’s meant for winter. This skirt, in particular, sports a very pretty embossed texture. Embossed prints are especially great in that they allow you to enjoy a texture and print without it being in your face or overwhelming in nature. I paired the skirt with this new BR sweater for a cozy fall look and my ever-present Charles Jourdan pumps. I think it’s going to be a very sad day when I have to find a replacement.

Oh I love that sweater, especially the slits on the side. It’s so true, we tend to wear more textures during the fall/winter months. I guess we just layer up more out of necessity or at least I do.lol
By the way I love the red lip?

Texture mixing is right up there with print mixing- it’s a total skill! You have it, btw. 🙂 Love this look!
