Plated: A Foodie’s Review
*This post was written in partnership with Plated*

If you’re a foodie but you’re sick of cooking after the holidays (and you don’t want to go out to yet another restaurant), I have the perfect solution for you. Conversely, if you’re not a foodie but want to be – maybe you’ve grown up on frozen meals or canned soup but are looking to make a change into something fresher – then this is for you too. It comes in the form of a very nicely insulated box filled with fresh ingredients: Plated. Plated does a great job from the start; they have a great menu to choose from, the delivery process is seamless, the ingredients are FRESH, and the instructions are concise and thorough. And to top it all off, the food was a 5 star experience. You have to put in a little bit of time but it goes quickly as everything is ready for you (for example, the pizza dough comes already made. You just need to roll it out and bake it.)

Plated sets itself apart from other brands by focusing on refined recipes for those with a diverse palate (or wannabes). For example, I loved the fact that my one meal came with rainbow carrots instead of plain orange carrots and that the pizza came with a sweet balsamic glaze and mozzarella, goat cheese and gruyere. There is much thought that goes into each meal and the results are more than outstanding. This is not a quick meal that you’re going to spend 2 minutes heating up and then shoveling down in another 2 minutes (okay, you just might eat it that fast); this is a service that aligns with a too-busy-to-shop lifestyle of someone who appreciates food but simply doesn’t have much time on their hands.

I chose the Peking-Style Mushroom Bowls with Roasted Bok Choy, Rainbow Carrots, and Brown Rice and the White Pizza with Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Balsamic Glaze. Both were excellent dishes in both taste and food quality. It was great having the shopping completely done for me and not having to deal with the hassle of measuring each ingredient out. This is a busy time of year for all us, whether it’s the stress of shopping for the holidays, traveling, retail work or whatever, most of us don’t have as much time right now to put into making a fabulous meal. Plated has definitely made it easy.
