Pastels in Winter: Blue

pastels in winter: blue sweater with gray denim and taupe boots

After all the pinks and reds from this past weekend, we’re all ready for a change. Consider pastels. I think pastels in winter are the perfect way to stave off winter gloom and summer withdrawal. It’s nice to be able to bring out a few summer whites, mix them in with pastel sweaters and create a classic and chic outfit for winter wear. This blue sweater has appeared various times throughout the blog – it’s a great spring sweater as well, pairing nicely with shorts or a skirt and sandals.

I hope your V-day weekend went well – we took some friends to the climbing gym on Saturday and they had a blast. Then we indulged in pizza afterwards because our bodies were starving for carbs after that workout (plus we will take any excuse to grab pizza). Sunday was spent lazing around the house – I came down with a cold Saturday eve after trying so hard to avoid getting sick from A. Clearly I didn’t try hard enough 🙂

The spouse and I did much the same .. not too much. BBQ steaks (which our dog loves) and just hung out at home on V Day.

I love the soft colors in your outfit, so pretty against the snow.

BBQ steaks sound amazing right about now. Grilling season is still a bit away for us, though I’m definitely tempted to grill in the snow. I have friends that do!

This makes me want to add more pastel to my wardrobe! This shade looks so pretty on you, and it is a nice veer from all the bold colors. It sounds like you had a perfect Valentine’s Day weekend, and lounging is always a fun activity!

Loving that Rebecca Minkoff bag! Aren’t her bags the best! Pastel blue is such a pretty colour on you and great way to brighten up our winter wardrobe. It’s usually around this time I start to get bore of my winter clothes & the cold too. lol! But it’s nice to add some colour and switch things up:)

Omg – her bags are to die for. If I don’t need a bag, I just avoid looking at them haha. I totally hear you on getting bored – definitely at that stage now and I’m trying my hardest to revitalize my creativity 😉

Great color scheme – your pictures just reminded me of why I want a pair of grey jeans, they’re fabulous and versatile.
