Lebanese Food | Fattoush Recipe

Today’s recipe is a special one – it’s a family recipe for fattoush, the Lebanese salad that’s a mixture of veggies and fried pita chips. My mom used to make it growing up and I never truly appreciate it until I was much older. We love this salad – if you’ve never fried (or toasted in a skillet) pita, you must try it. They are a bazillion times better than croutons and they add so much flavor. This salad is super healthy with a mini splurge with the pita chips.

Total Time: 10 minutes

A family recipe for Lebanese fattoush

  • 6 oz spring mix or lettuce, chopped
  • 2-3 T dried mint
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 Persian cucumbers, chopped
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 1 T onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 pitas (sliced into chunks and fried/sautéed in 2-3 T of grapeseed oil)

Mix lettuce, mint, tomatoes, cucumbers, lemon juice, olive oil, onion, garlic and salt together in a large bowl. Top with pita chips.
