Happy Thanksgiving! | What I’m thankful for…
I’ve been dragging my feet this week. We have family in town and the holiday is in full swing so work keeps getting put on the back burner. So much has happened this year and there are a lot of things to be thankful for. I don’t usually get into personal things on the blog because I like to keep things lighthearted and fashionfoodtravel-focused but like all of you, there are things that happen that aren’t quite as glamorous as all the delicious food and beautiful travel photos you see me post on a daily basis. Last year my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and this year I’m thankful that she has remained free and clear and that she can join us in the festivities of this season. This is only one of many things I find myself thankful for. I’m also thankful that all my family in Syria has remained safe despite the chaos that’s ensuing in that region and that my cousin didn’t lose her life when she was grazed in the back with a bullet. I’m thankful for a home, a great family, close friends, and a group of readers who seem to find me interesting enough to keep coming back for more 🙂 Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little things that I do have and focus instead on what I don’t have or on things that really hold no importance. It’s those times that I like to remind myself that there are people out there who don’t even have an eighth of what I have and then I re-adjust my focus. So in light of the holiday, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
What are you thankful for this week?
A beautifully written post my dear ..
I’m thankful that my husband is home after a long year of travel to/from Singapore and that we got to feast together today – now I’m stuffed and can’t move – back to portion control tomorrow.
