Flared Denim + Plaid Scarf
It’s taken me quite a while but I finally got a pair of flared denim.
Here’s why: every pair I tried on just didn’t fit right. Either they were bootcut jeans and were incorrectly labelled as flares or they weren’t the right wash, too dark like black jeans or too faded that it made me feel like I just came back from a farm show. The major issue, though, that I had with all the pairs was length. You’d think that petite sizing would work for me. It doesn’t. The flares end up cutting off just an inch or sometimes a smidgen too short of where they needed to be. Conversely, regular length dragged about four inches past my feet and I knew that I’d be tripping even with my tallest heels. Then I came across a regular length version of a pair of petite jeans I had ordered from Asos (which I would subsequently return because of the above issue with petite sizing). These were perfect. Obviously I can’t wear flats with them but heels fit wonderfully. They’re high waisted which is great if you want to pair them with a crop top and they’re a nice modern wash. And FYI, they are on sale for only $18. So you won’t ever have to feel bad if in a year or so you decide this cut isn’t for you!
