Different Ways To Wear A Belt

Over the past year or so, I’ve really gotten into wearing belts. Belts can really glam up an outfit and are useful in several different ways. Traditionally, a belt’s main purpose was to hold up pants.
Today, they are more of a statement piece, used for a myriad of purposes. You’ve already seen one of the most popular ways to wear your belts in my Belted Cardigan Sweater post using a Mango belt I found on clearance. ($3!!! AND it’s leather!) Another popular use is belting a dress (for more body definition) or belting a vest.
One of my favorite ways is to wear two belts combined as you saw in the Skinny Belt post. This type of style is best achieved using two belts of relatively the same size. I usually hook the two of them together and then wrap them around my waist to achieve the double wrap belt look.
Another unique way to wear your belts is to belt your coat. Ditch the original belt that your coat came with and sub it with your favorite. You already saw me do this once in my Classic Black, Red, and White post where I belted my red belt over my white coat. I really liked the look I achieved and so I did it once again.
This time I used my gray Guess coat.
This is just a fun way to add color and definition to your existing coats. Without spending money on buying new coats, you can achieve a slightly different look with just substituting different colored belts in various sizes and widths.
Have you ever belted your coat? What’s your favorite way to use your belts?
