How to Create the Perfect Boho Picnic
In celebration of spring, here’s a guide on how to create the perfect boho picnic. You may notice that there’s snow on the ground in these shots – why yes, we did unexpectedly get a blizzard in March! But my sister and I never let that ruin our fun! So this is how we put together the best picnic ever…
LAY OUT A BOHO RUG OR LARGE TOWEL
Choose a rug or towel that transports easily, like a kilim rug or round beach towel. I love vivid patterns and reds so choose ones with bold colors.
ADD IN PILLOWS
Colorful pillows not only make a picnic way more photogenic but they also give you some added comfort as you’re sitting down relaxing with food and a view. And an added plus….you get to add even more pillows to your home collection (read: I have a pillow addiction).
FLOWERS
It goes without saying that flowers make everything brighter and more attractive. Pick some up from your local grocery store and spread them out or put them in a plastic cup with water for a cute little bouquet. If you have pretty fake flowers at home, bring those instead. No one will ever know!
SET UP A FRUIT PLATTER
Fruit and nut platters are such a great accompaniment to wine – pistachios, pretzels, crackers and berries are all easy foods to pack. Add in halloumi or gouda cheese for an even more perfect pairing.
BREAK OUT THE WINE
Boxed wine is the key to a successful wine-based picnic. I’m always worried about glass breaking anytime I transport wine but after discovering Bota Box, I’m a happy picnicker. Bota Box wines come in BPA and BPS-free plastic packages surrounded by a cardboard box and with an easy-to-use spout. All packaging is 100% recyclable because Bota Box truly cares about the environment and has made a decision to box their wine in materials that we can all easily recycle. Bota Box offers several different varieties of wine from Malbec to Pinot Noir to Chardonnay. I had the opportunity to try Malbec and RedVolution, both excellent options that went quite well with my pretzel, cheese and berry platter 🙂 Bota Box is easy to locate – you can check their website to see which local store carries it.
Thank you to Bota Box for sponsoring today’s post!
Great tips dear! Oh wow I love the view in your photos! And your outfit is just so amazing! You look so lovely!
