Celebrating the Holidays

4 days until Christmas and then the festivities begin. Technically, though, the festivities start tomorrow when my mom and sisters  come over and we bake cookies like we’ve never baked before. We did that last year and it was so much fun. This year has had its fair share of failures, successes and trials and as I’m currently writing this, my dad is in the ER awaiting health news, my best friend’s grandmother is recovering from a recent stroke and it’s been 2 days since we buried my husband’s grandpa. Life sure knows how to throw you a curveball, in true successive form. So I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ll be celebrating life in every way this Christmas and New Year.

We aren’t wine connoisseurs but I’ve mentioned before that my dad makes wine so quite naturally, our celebrations always involve wine. The glasses are exquisite and beautifully shaped. I immediately thought of my wine-loving friend (same one as above) when I first opened the box, thinking that these had her name written all over them. She laughed in agreement when I told her.
