Cruising | Belted Tunic + White Denim

belted linen tunic over white denim

I kind of forgot about this outfit, shot on the cruise ship last month. A and I felt like this section of the ship really complemented the belted tunic and white denim combo with all its Tuscan charm and reproduction. This was the “adults only” area where most people sat and read, napped or just looked out the windows. As you can imagine, it was a great area to take a few photos without feeling like you’re disturbing someone or conversely, being gawked at or interrupted every few seconds. I’m so glad I bought these espadrilles last summer – sometimes I wait too long to buy something I know I’ll use often – thankfully, they weren’t sold out by the time my indecisive self clicked the purchase button. I have taken these with me on every trip we’ve been on (weather permitting) since getting them. They were perfect for the cruise, pairing well with pretty much every outfit I had!

  1. Fun outfit and perfect for a relaxing cruise. How did you do with sea sickness? Or did you hardly feel any movement on the ship.

    1. Funny that you would ask…our very first cruise was a bit difficult. I had dizziness where basically I walked around feeling like I was moving all the time (even a week after when we were home). My husband felt pretty ill several times. This cruise was completely different, even though we were on deck 8, a much more concerning deck for seasickness. The things we did differently were a) avoid coffee b) drink mint tea every night c) take 2 ginger capsules every day and d) stay hydrated at all times. Oh, and my husband had a green apple almost every day. I’m not sure if it was the combination of all of the above or just one thing in particular but it worked! I didn’t even feel weird after getting off. 🙂

      1. Truly amazing how avoiding caffeine and using herbal remedies can really help with sea sickness. I was curious about the green apple & through an internet search found out that green apples have more potassium which is an electrolyte that helps with fluid balance in the cells .. similar to making sure you were always hydrated. Really good tips for any type of motion sickness.
