I love cocktails; plain and simple. The problem is that I am forgetful and never remember what ingredients I need for each cocktail so I never end up making said delicious cocktails. However, when it comes to this lemon flavored shandy beertail, you don’t need a memory because it’s crazy easy to make with just two ingredients, three if you count the lemon garnish. Using Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, mix 3 parts shandy to 1 part iced tea. I used Earl Grey tea but you can use any tea you want – you can even be creative and use a fruity tea! The lemon garnish really brings out the tartness of the shandy.
If you’re having friends over this summer, you can mix together these beertails in about 2 minutes and serve them with a delicious fruit platter. The fruity flavor of the Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy compliments the fruit and the prep work is minimal (no cooking!) Plus how colorful does it look?! If you want to go all out, be sure to add some fresh flowers and a few fresh sprigs of mint to the platter. If you’re not quite convinced that you want fruit as a side to go with your summer dusk cocktail, head on over to Pints and Plates website – they have plenty of other pairings to choose from!
p.s. If you’re like me and have never tried shandy, do yourself a favor and go get some. I had never had one until our beer connoisseur neighbor dropped off a bottle. It was absolutely delicious. But don’t take my word for it…
