Spring is just around the corner and I'm sure everyone is wondering what trends are going to be a part of the Spring 2013 trend list. This post covers most of the upcoming trends we've been seeing hit stores. I'm so excited for them!
This trend is a favorite of mine. Something about army green screams tough and combine it with leather accents and zippers and you've got one great edgy piece (jacket below). Military pants are great for those seeking a very minor military touch - you can wear them with pink and have a tough-meets-feminine look or you can go all out and pick black as your complementing color.
Since emerald has been declared the Pantone Color of the Year, I think we will be seeing a lot of it in stores come spring and summer. It's such a great color that I can see it being popular in bright hues this spring/summer with deeper, jeweled tones being carried into fall.
I used to hate pointy-toed shoes. Remember a few years ago when the killer point was in style? I call it the killer point because it was so pointed you could literally use it for self-defense. That particular style put a bad taste in my mouth and now, every time I hear the word "pointy-toe" I cringe. However, designers have revamped the point of the past and have instituted a more mild point that is gentle and modern. Now this I can sport.
I don't know who isn't excited about this one. Stripes are everywhere. You all know me well enough by now to know that I am infatuated with anything striped and will be wearing them throughout the next year. Watch for them on skirts and in different patterns (i.e. vertical as opposed to last year's horizontal)
This one is a fun one. I first saw these come out last summer - Mango had an amazing pair that sold out ridiculously fast and of course, all the high-end designers had come out with this style months before. I loved them but the none of the stores I shopped at carried them. Chances are, some of you already have a pair of these. For those that don't, keep an eye out for them. The Target x Prabal Gurung collection had a few pairs (which sold out fast) and Mango, Zara and H&M all have different pairs of the same style.
For the past two years, we have seen a lot of neutrals coming out during the summer. This year, however, it appears that the tide has turned and black and white are once again popular. And for all my stripe-loving friends, especially in the form of stripes.
