After our fun bout at the beach (and furniture delivery) in the Hamptons, we headed back across the island to Port Jefferson. Our next stop was near New Haven, Connecticut and we knew the quickest way to get there was to take the ferry. We got to the port well in advance of embarkation time and of course, decided to head into the charming town for a cup of coffee to warm us up. Starbucks was the first store we ran across and since we love Starbucks, it was a no-brainer. And to just negate the purpose of the coffee, we headed into the local frozen yogurt shop. Turns out it was a bit of a disappointment – yogurt was a bit too tart for us and seemed to lack the supposed flavors. It was a sad day for me. I’m a HUGE frozen yogurt fan!
We headed back to the van and loaded the ferry. Some snapshots of Port Jefferson and the ferry ride below:
Port Jefferson at night – Calm before the storm!
I chose this outfit for the ferry ride. I recycled my ponte leggings from the day before and used a striped shirt under a mesh shirt for a bit of warmth. Add to that my black scarf and wedge sneakers and I was ready to go. Well, almost. It would have been nice had I remembered to pack my leather jacket. Did I mention that forgetting to pack an essential is such a pet peeve of mine??? Anyways, I survived. We actually sat in the van for most of the ride, as that was the warmest and most comfortable spot.
